Philadelphia Man Arrested on Bank Robbery Charges

Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Janice K. Fedarcyk, FBI Philadelphia, announces the arrest of Lawrence W. Wilson for bank robbery. Wilson, age 54, was arrested this afternoon, September 17, 2009 following the robbery of the Sovereign Bank, 1101 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA. Wilson, dubbed by the media as the “Limping Bandit,” was taken into custody without incident in the 2900 Block of Kensington Avenue by the Philadelphia Police Department and FBI agents assigned to the Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force.

Wilson is alleged to be responsible for the 9/9/2009 robbery of the TD Bank, located at 657 Conchester Highway, Boothwyn, PA. A local arrest warrant was issued for Wilson following this robbery. Wilson was also wanted on a Federal Parole Violation.

Wilson is also believed to be a suspect in two other bank robberies. Those robberies include the PNC Bank, 400 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA on 9/14/2009 and the Bank of America, 3745 Aramingo Avenue, Philadelphia, PA on 9/16/2009.
