Levittown Man Indicted on Weapons Charge
United States Attorney Michael L. Levy and Philadelphia District Attorney Lynne Abraham
today announced the filing of an indictment against William Foster charging him with possession
of a firearm by a convicted felon. The indictment charges that Foster, a convicted felon, was in
possession of a 26 inch, 12 gauge shotgun, serial no. X00658, manufactured by Fausti Stefano Arms,
on November 3, 2008.
The case was investigated by the Philadelphia Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, an initiative by the
United States Attorney’s Office, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, the Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Philadelphia Police
Department to identify and prosecute firearms offenders in federal court, where the defendant is
likely to receive a substantial sentence upon conviction.
If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of ten years' imprisonment, three years of supervised release, a $250,000 fine and a $100 special assessment.
