Havertown Man Sentenced to 10 Years on Child Pornography Charges

PHILADELPHIA—Jerome Bennett, III, 46, of Havertown, PA, was sentenced today to 120 months in prison for one count of receipt and one count of possession of child pornography, announced United States Attorney Michael L. Levy. An investigation revealed that Bennett had two laptop computers, two external hard drives, and two flash drives containing approximately 3,800 images of child pornography. Bennett pleaded guilty to the charges on April 9, 2009. In addition to the prison term, U.S. District Court Judge Mary A. McLaughlin ordered Bennett to pay a fine in the amount of $2,500 and serve 15 years of supervised release.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Innocent Images Task Force and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kathy A. Stark.
