Lackawanna County Drug Dealer Sentenced to 75 Months in Prison
Martin C. Carlson, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, announced that a Lackawanna County man was sentenced today by U.S. District Court Judge A. Richard Caputo to serve 75 months in federal prison for cocaine and crack cocaine trafficking during 2007.
Carlson stated that Mark Cook, also known as “Lucky,” age 31, was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute more than five grams of crack cocaine and more than 400 grams of cocaine.
Cook was charged as a result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and local police in Monroe and Lackawanna Counties.
Judge Caputo ordered that Cook’s federal sentence run consecutive to a state sentence he is serving for a parole violation. Judge Caputo also ordered Cook to be placed on four years of supervised release after serving his federal prison sentence. Cook must also pay a $100 special assessment.
Carlson noted that the case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Francis P. Sempa.
