America’s Most Wanted Ringleader Charged in Six-Year Interstate Burglary Spree

PHILADELPHIA—United States Attorney Michael L. Levy today announced the filing of a superseding indictment against Scott Hornick, charging him with interstate transportation of stolen property, pharmacy burglary, and conspiracy. The ten-count indictment alleges that after escaping from prison, Hornick assembled a gang of burglars with whom he burglarized more than 150 businesses in more than a dozen states.

The indictment alleges that Hornick and co-defendants Sasha Ingardi, Jerry Todisco, and Anthony Todisco used disguises and burglary tools to forcibly enter businesses after hours. They allegedly filled bags with store merchandise, such as cameras, watches, medications, perfume, and guitars, and loaded the bags into rented or stolen vehicles. Hornick and his gang then transported their stolen goods to Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, to hand the merchandise over to Vallin Malcom, their “fence.” The indictment further alleges that due to his status as a wanted fugitive, Hornick employed a variety of aliases and other means in order to conceal his identity and to evade capture.

“According to the indictment, these defendants made a career out of stealing from hard-working businesses owners in order to support themselves,” said Levy. “Because of the cooperation of law enforcement agencies in numerous states, this “one-minute” burglar now faces many years in prison.”

“This investigation involved many law enforcement agencies from across the East Coast and spanned six years,” said Special Agent-in-Charge Janice K. Fedarcyk of the Philadelphia Division of the FBI. “However, it underscores the determination and persistence of the FBI and our law enforcement partners in our pursuit of those who seek to profit from crime and evade the justice they deserve.”

“Hornick wanted it all but he never worked a day,” said Baltimore County Police Detective Gary Lippa of the Criminal Investigation Division Burglary Unit. “Now, thanks to the hard work and cooperation of law enforcement across the East Coast, he's flat out finished.”
