Allentown Resident Sentenced for Employee Embezzlement

ALLENTOWN, PA—Debra G. Snow, 50, of Cherry Creek, NY, was sentenced today to 33 months in prison for embezzling approximately $310,940 from her employer, JRNA Inc., doing business as “Unclaimed Freight,” between February 2003 and March 2007, announced United States Attorney Michael L. Levy. Snow pleaded guilty in July 2008 to three counts of wire fraud and three counts of filing false federal income tax returns for calendar years 2004, 2005 and 2006. Snow failed to report the substantial additional taxable income on her federal income tax returns.

In addition to the prison term, U.S. District Judge James Knoll Gardner ordered Snow to pay restitution in the amount of $409,740. She was immediately remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Prisons.

The case was investigated by the Internal Revenue Service/Criminal Investigation Division (Bethlehem Office), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (Allentown). It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Seth Weber.
