Bank Robber Sentenced to More Than 12 Years in Prison
PHILADELPHIA—Christopher Larue, 30, of North Wales, Pennsylvania, was sentenced today to 147 months in prison for four counts of bank robbery, one count of armed bank robbery, and one count of carrying a firearm during a crime of violence, announced United States Attorney Michael L. Levy. Last January, Larue admitted robbing five banks in less than one month, including: the Fulton Bank, 378 North Main Street, Doylestown; the Abington Savings Bank, 1526 Easton Road, Horsham, Pennsylvania; the Bucks First Federal Credit Union, 1452 Easton Road, Warrington, Pennsylvania; the Sovereign Bank, 797 Broad Street, Doylestown, Pennsylvania; and the PNC Bank, 501 North Broad Street, Lansdale, Pennsylvania. In addition to the prison term, Judge Mary McLaughlin ordered Larue to pay restitution to the banks in the amount of $7,250 (total), and complete five years of supervised release at the conclusion of his prison term.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michelle Morgan-Kelly.
