Monroe County Bank Robber Sentenced to 63 Months in Prison
Martin C. Carlson, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, announced that a Saylorsburg man who participated in the robbery of the Keystone National Bank and Trust in Broadheadsville on January 6, 2009, was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Court Judge James M. Munley to serve 63 months in federal prison.
Carlson stated that Timothy McGlothlin, age 33, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting a bank robbery. McGlothlin admitted that he and two other people planned to rob the bank and drew straws to determine who would enter the bank. McGlothlin drove the other two participants to the bank to commit the robbery, waited for them to return with the money, and drove away with approximately $4,000 in cash taken from the bank.
McGlothlin, Derrick James, and Kelly Lobdell were indicted by a federal grand jury on February 3, 2009, as a result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)and the Pennsylvania State Police. James and Lobdell are awaiting trial.
Judge Munley also ordered McGlothlin to serve three years of supervised release after serving his prison sentence, and to pay a special assessment of $100. McGlothlin must also pay restitution as determined by the court.
Carlson noted that the case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Francis P. Sempa.
