Owners
of “Fun 4 Kids Entertainment” Federally
Sentenced for Contempt of Court
Martin
C. Carlson, United States Attorney for the Middle
District of Pennsylvania, announced that Tammy Beecher,
age 37, and Wyatt Beecher, age 29, both of Hellam,
Pennsylvania, were each sentenced Wednesday by United
States Magistrate Judge J. Andrew Smyser to a 15-day
prison sentence for contempt of court.
According
to U.S. Attorney Carlson, husband and wife, Wyatt
and Tammy Beecher filed a petition for Chapter 7
Bankruptcy in May 2007. During the course of this
filing, both Wyatt and Tammy Beecher signed under
penalty of perjury that Tammy Beecher had no income,
and they had listed that they were not involved in
any businesses within the last six years. During
their meetings with the appointed Trustee, the Beecher’s
did not disclose their family business, “Fun
4 Kids Entertainment.” Only after the Beecher’s
were presented with a coupon for $5 off any party,
and reminded they signed the bankruptcy petition
under penalty of perjury, did the Beecher’s
admit that the business has operated on-and-off for
the past three years.
This
case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation
and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney
Eric Pfisterer.
