Monroe County Man Sentenced to 63 Months for Drug Trafficking

Martin C. Carlson, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, announced that a Monroe County man was sentenced today by U.S. District Court Senior Judge William J. Nealon to serve 63 months in federal prison for participating in a conspiracy that was responsible for distributing large quantities of cocaine and crack cocaine in the Poconos during 2002-2006.

Carlson stated that Michael Albertson, Sr., age 55, pleaded guilty in October 2006 to conspiracy to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine.

Albertson was indicted by a federal grand jury on June 27, 2006, as a result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Pennsylvania State Police, and local police in Monroe County.

Judge Nealon also ordered Albertson to be placed on supervised release for four years after serving his prison sentence, to pay a $100 special assessment, and to forfeit guns, ammunition, and money to the government.

Carlson noted that Albertson is the last defendant to be sentenced in the multi-defendant drug investigation that resulted in the seizure of large amounts of cocaine and crack cocaine, 13 firearms, numerous rounds of ammunition, and more than $14,000 in cash. Judge Nealon’s other sentences in the case, include:

  • Michael Albertson, Jr.– 198 months;
  • Gerard Mollica–168 months;
  • Paul Bridgeman– 130 months;
  • Robert Goode, Sr– 84 months;
  • Stephan Tiller– 70 months;
  • Jeff Kresge– 64 months;
  • Nate Renfro– 60 months;
  • Alan Dunlap– 51 months;
  • Robert Goode, Jr.– 51 months;
  • Alan Dunlap– 51 months; and
  • Amber Lane– 30 months

Carlson noted that the case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Francis P. Sempa.
